There are many wonderful SPANISH Traditions that I have come to learn and enjoy – one of them is the experience of having a coffee in one of the many bars in my town of Lugo (northern Spain in Galicia). An Expression I have come to love is “I Take A Coffee” from the spanish word “tomar” – “to take or have”. There is something very special in this saying which is also an invitation from friends or “companeros” (your peers or work companions) – “Tomar un cafe” – would you like to take a coffee. There is a wonderful ownership in the experience with sentiments of real enjoyment! Spanish coffee is FANTASTIC and to enjoy it in one of the historic bars or any place you choose to stop and “Take A Coffee” you know will be either a 5 minute Incredibly Delicious Experience or when you have more time to spend with friends you will enjoy savoring the rich flavor and a good conversation for sure!
