Exploring Terra Chá – Cospeito Lagoon & A Fantastic Educational Farm
When the sun is shining in Galicia one must take advantage of it and enjoy a little exploration of the land and of course the food. Sometimes the simplest meals are the most special and that was the case last friday when Marisa took us on an exploration of Cospeito Lagoon, a wonderful nature reserve, with a perfect little caseta (small house) for a picnic and then a afternoon paseo – a little walk amongst the trees around the lagoon.
Cospeito just north of Lugo if you are on the camino primitivo and Vilalba on the Camino de Norte you can enjoy a camino of a different kind. Completely surrounded by nature with fantastic views from every location. Full of beautiful trees, flowering plants, and lots of wildlife, perfect for bird watching from the special little huts with viewing windows.
It was a fantastic way to begin the weekend with a little fresh air, fantastic jamon, tasty tomato salsa on toasta’s, fabulous blue cheese, a yummy Cesar salad, and a little vino Rosado – the sites, flavors, and atmosphere were perfect for starting a relaxing weekend.
After our picnic and paseo it was time to explore a wonderful Educational Learning Farm and Casa Rural with Marisa’s friend Yolanda. Just before sunset we walked in the fields to pet the goats, horses and dogs. We finished our relaxing afternoon with meeting a baby foal only 3 weeks old. Just like spring bringing new birth this little foal had a spring in her step and a sparkle in her eye. Just as we did after a Fabulous Friday With A Friend exploring a little of the Terra Chá. Thank you Marisa Granda for always sharing so many unique and wonderful treasures of Galicia. Looking forward to the next adventure!
